About me

Then

I was born and raised in Köln, Germany. Köln is in the Western part of Germany and is a beautiful historic city. It was founded in 42 BC. It is the 4th biggest city in Germany with a little over 1 million people.
My parents still live there, and I miss it a lot. It is a lot of fun, cool places to go, things to do.
Cologne
A little blurb from a webpage I found this picture on:
You might expect Cologne, with its Roman remains and many churches, to be a severe and typically serious German city. Not so. Germany’s unofficial gay capital brims with fun-loving young hipsters. Some 30 per cent of the one million inhabitants are between the ages of 18 and 35, and, perhaps because of this, it is filled with cinemas (64), theatres (49) and museums (36). In summer Kölners spend their days outside in the many parks and cafés lending the city an unexpected Mediterranean air.

Now

I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1999. Grand Rapids is a typical medium sized midwestern city. It has a large Dutch influence, and you can still see that reflected by the last names. It is on the west side of Michigan, located close to Lake Michigan.
It is home to Gerald R. Ford and the center of the furniture industry of the US.
Grand Rapids
The City of Grand Rapids, as the second largest city in the state of Michigan, encompasses an area of approximately 45 square miles. It is located in west central Michigan, roughly 30 miles east of Lake Michigan. The Grand River, a major state waterway, runs through the city's center. The city's population is 197,800, per the 2000 census. Grand Rapids is the county seat of Kent County which boasts a population count of over 500,000, covering 856 square miles. Our metropolitan area has a population of over 1,000,000.
